March 25, 2019: Accommodation owners and operators can now create their own online marketplace thanks to a pioneering partnership between hospitality technology company RMS Cloud and Marketplacer - a leader in global marketplace software.
The industry-first initiative features full integration between RMS Cloud’s property management system and Marketplacer’s ‘plug & play’ SaaS technology platform.
Marketplacer powers online marketplaces including BikeExchange and Outdoria while enabling leading brands such as Jayco, Bob Jane T-Marts and Myer to consolidate fragmented markets and generate new revenue streams.
Tom Buttigieg, Business Development Manager for RMS Cloud, says the new product is best suited to multi-property accommodation owners/operators or letting agents with numerous properties.
“It’s a great option for accommodation businesses that want to boost their online presence and integrate complementary tourism products such as tours, activities or car hire,” Buttigieg says.
“The partnership means accommodation businesses will be able to establish their own destination-oriented marketplace to drive direct bookings – saving on expensive online travel agent commissions – while unlocking new income opportunities.”
Chris Skelton, Chief Revenue Officer at Marketplacer, says the partnership gives accommodation operators a clear competitive advantage.
“We believe the accommodation industry is ripe for further disruption. Our partnership with RMS Cloud gives operators the ability to consolidate their online activity, increase online bookings and strengthen their bottom line,” Skelton says.
The new product combines the strengths of RMS Cloud’s property management system and the Marketplacer platform with attractive online product display and user-friendly booking capabilities.
Marketplacer’s purpose-built technology has been developed to also facilitate the seamless incorporation of complementary products and other offerings to provide a unified commerce experience for customers.
