However, in the unfortunate event that you receive a credit card dispute, RMS PAY has got your back. You’ll be notified immediately by an alert in the system where you can view, approve and importantly defend any disputes through your dashboard.

Guest profile retention

Credit card tokenisation and guest profile retention through the Guest Portal helps you create a seamless, cardless, secure experience for your guests. Card details are encrypted in RMS PAY, so you can safely charge your guests’ card without needing to physically handle transactions. Guest left a mess after departure? What is a credit card token?
By replacing the cardholder’s Primary Account Number (PAN) with a randomly generated identifier, it adds a deeper layer of security to sensitive information online. This process is called tokenisation and it’s used to prevent credit card fraud. The token will be stored in your guest’s profile, and it can be used to take further payment before, during and after their stay.  
Can RMS PAY use my existing tokens from another payment gateway?

RMS PAY is unable to perform a receipt or refund against a token created by another gateway (including RMS Vault). This is a restriction that applies to all gateways when transitioning from one to another. We recommend sending forward reservations an email inviting them to the Guest Portal to refresh their credit card information or using Pre-Check-In. 

Which secure payments are included with RMS PAY?

All our online and RMS PAY terminal payments are PCI DSS compliant and inherently secure. For an added layer of security, you can use best practices to employ 3D security via customer-initiated payments like SMS or Email payment links.

What happens if I receive a dispute?
You can manage all your disputes via the dashboard in RMS PAY, including accepting and defending disputes.  You won't need to liaise with banks or payment providers, and if you need help to better understand how to monitor and defend charges, you can get support from our team.
When should I use pre-authorisation?
Pre-authorisation is a great way to ensure payments for bookings are fulfilled during high season, big events and holiday weekends, and the security benefits are self-explanatory. However, waiving pre-auth requirements can also be used to drive more demand during quieter periods, so guests can book without a credit card. Use pre-authorisation wisely and it can be a great revenue tool.
